Solution Architect

Job Description

We are looking for Solution Architect for our partner company.


Work activities

  • Create solutions / proposals in response to customer or internal requests using pre-defined (contractually agreed) infrastructure building blocks.
  • Work with the customer, 3rd parties and delivery teams (in both the infrastructure and application area) to estimate effort and timelines and document risks.
  • Provide input to pricing (pricing itself is handled by a proposal manager).
  • Support projects in the start phase (transferring knowledge from the proposal to the project execution phase).
  • Support programs (like server or version refresh) in analyzing and planning their scope, proposing a way forward and estimating the effort.
  • Occasionally support sales teams to qualify leads / investigate new offerings.

Required skills

  • Solution architecture (using a structured approach to develop solutions). Working cross-tower is a necessity.
  • Linux knowledge is a must. Solaris know-how is definitely a bonus.
  • Windows (about 80% of the system estate) can be covered by others but will be nearly always a part of the solution).
  • Databases (conceptual - mainly SQL and Oracle) and Middleware.
  • Public cloud knowledge will be a key element in the future. Main focus of the customer is Azure but also AWS is in use.
  • A basic understanding of outsourcing (as we provide manages service to our customer) as well as security concepts.

Location

  • Most interactions with the customer happen in Europe and it therefore makes sense to work European (CET) hours.
  • Other members of the team are based in Hungary, Austria, Germany and in the US. The team is managed remotely.
