Introduction

They are continuously working on further succession with the help of a dedicated workforce, so their Digitalization and IT Department is now expanding to further support global projects and core activities.
Tasks
Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer, the incumbent is responsible for providing support for the implementation of a high priority EU funded program with implementation in EU member countries. In addition to this focus, the incumbent can be involved in providing support to the Regional Office in various finance issues to ensure the smooth dayto-day operation, handling both internal and external partners. The incumbent covers specifically the Regional Office and other offices within the Region as requested.
Job duties and responsibilities
The position holder shall:
- Be responsible for all aspects of basic financial management of the above-mentioned project, including supporting implementation from the financial side both at the Regional Office and at National Society level
- Providing training and guidance on relevant partner's and donor financial policies to be followed during the project implementation
Job description:
- Conduction monitoring and follow up visits to project partners on a regular basis, according to pre-agreed plan
- Participation at relevant partner and the partner's meetings in relation to the project
- Ensure data input into CODA financial system in relation to the project specifically are done in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
- Check that financial codes are correct before booking the transactions and ensure any correction
- Organize and file documents in relation to reporting received from project partners, according to the standard filing system
- Ensure that all payments are validated by the senior finance person in charge and approved by the budget holder
- Assist the Senior Finance Officer in managing the funds and financial assets of the Regional Office, especially focusing on the implementation of the above project
- Prepare the field returns files in accordance with the deadlines, ensuring the availability of all supporting documents
- Ensure timely administration and monitoring of working advances
- Ensure clearance and reporting of working advances
- Establish and ensure effective working relationships with the staff and management of Europe Zone
- Ensure and promote compliance with the partner's financial procedures, budgeting system, monthly
- Accounts closure, bank reconciliation & processes
- Provide reports from B.O. to office as requested, monitor project specific reports and follow up on issues or escalate to Senior Finance Officer
- Any other tasks assigned by the Senior Finance Officer

Expectations
- University Degree in a finance related discipline
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, working knowledge with ERP financial modules
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Accuracy and fine attention to detail
- Organised and self-starter in work prioritising
- Excellent customer service
- Fluent spoken and written English
Advantageous
- Professional /academic qualification in finance or accounting
- Experience in working with accounting systems
- Work experience with other international organizations, large NGOs and/or governmental development agencies, multi-cultural environment
- Fluently spoken and written Hungarian
- Good command of another IFRC official language (French, Spanish or Arabic)
