Introduction

Tasks
  • Responsible for managing all deliverables to aggressive timelines, service delivery levels and savings targets, working with category sourcing managers to ensure strategy alignment is maintained, engaging business units and suppliers to drive value propositions through various sourcing approaches, and mitigating risk to the company
  • Coordinate purchases with the Category Sourcing Managers, ensuring that all activity is aligned to category strategies and is managed according to Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the development of long range procurement strategies and plans and for obtaining goods and services through negotiations, vendor alliance and standardized bidding/proposals of all major requirements, establishment of specifications and monitoring of vendor performance in order to achieve service improvement and cost reduction, and train buyers to conduct and implement procurement for these commodities on an on-going basis
  • Develop and manage to completion detailed commodity, supplier and negotiation plans, including RFIs, RFPs, reverse auctions, contracts, schedules and addendums for assigned goods and services, coordinating with Legal and Businesses
  • Ensure documentation accuracy of the supplier selection and negotiation processes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cost reduction/savings goals
  • Analyze market conditions and supplier economics in order to achieve annual cost reduction goals while meeting quality, availability and service standards
Expectations
  • 4-year degree from an accredited University or College, or equivalent experience of Business
  • Legal or Procurement experience with ability to learn processes quickly and adaptability to constantly changing environment 
  • Experience with contracts and or business law is a plus 
  • Strong negotiation and contracting skills with influencing and persuasive talents
  • Proven project management skills 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management in a professional and positive manner 
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and has the ability to effectively organize, multi-task and prioritize a wide array of initiatives 
  • Strong customer orientation 
  • Must be flexible, manage and follow up on programs and initiatives 
  • High integrity and ethics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to quickly learn other computer applications 
  • Strong PC skills (Oracle and Procure-to-Pay knowledge is a plus)
