Introduction
Our partner is a global supplier of tyre additives, rubber chemicals and solutions, including insoluble sulphur, antioxidants and stabilisers. The company's sole purpose is to provide tyre and other rubber product manufacturers with better solutions that improve product performance, optimise production efficiency and ensure supply chain success.
Tasks

Primary Responsibilities


• Strategy and Governance: Leads the development of IT Applications strategy to enable Company objectives with strong alignment to the Mfg, Engr, and R&D business plan.

• Partnership and Transparency: Partner with each function to understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding IT strategies that are required to support them. Establishes communications style and processes to create transparency regarding IT performance, implementation performance, and investment opportunities.

• Reliable Operations: Establishes roles, processes, and management oversight to ensure effective, secure and reliable application delivery with a focus on continuous improvement and cost optimization.

• Project Execution and Delivery: Establishes roles, processes, and management oversight to ensure effective and timely execution of Application investments and successful attainment of intended benefits.

• Management, Technical and Security Controls: Leads the development of effective controls and implements management review processes to ensure compliance in cost, project, operations and security dimensions.

• Service Delivery: Leads the design, build, delivery, and continuous improvement of customer-facing application delivery and support services.

• Technology Leadership: Leads the development of application architectures, selection of development and support vendors, and build-out of new systems. Leads / provides oversight of integration and interface development for highly scalable and cost-efficient operations.

• Financial Management: Responsible for the operationalization of financial plans for both yearly operations and multi-year investments.


Education


• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, management information systems or related field with additional technical training in programming, systems analysis and/or systems design.

• MBA, Engineering, or IT-related graduate degree is a strong plus

Expectations

Experience


  • Broad operating experience with at least 5 years in an applications leadership capacity within one or more global manufacturing environments with process-based industries a strong plus.
  • A track record of increasing responsibilities and documented results over a period of 10 years in corporate environments. Results should include both business value related outcomes and technical performance dimensions (performance, capacity, availability, cost structure).
  • Proven technical leadership experience of a broad global applications environment inclusive of best-of-breed applications. Direct SAP experience is a strong plus.
  • Proven leadership experience in a national or multi-national corporate environment.


Skills / Knowledge


  • Deep knowledge of IT Applications’ software architecture (including database technologies, AWS and infrastructure), integrations leveraging middleware, lifecycle management practices
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft hybrid environment, including on-prem AD, Azure, M365, Exchange, Sharepoint
  • Background in estimating/designing/developing IT applications systems
  • Development and management of vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Manufacturing & Engineering functions and applications like: AutoCAD, Aspen Engineering, Capuware ELOG, Emerson Delta V, FactoryTalk Studio Enterprise, LIMS LabWare, Control Logix, OSI PI, Isoplan, ProjectWise
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Research & Development function and applications like: Agilent OpenLab CDS, Electronic Lab Notebook (Signals), Chem Draw, HORIBA Particle Analyzer, Knovel Minitab Inc, Sopheon, Mnova, Jump
  • Proven budgeting and financial management expertise at a departmental level
  • A strong strategic and business mindset and ability to convert technical capabilities into business value
  • Strong knowledge of applications information security vulnerabilities, disaster-recovery and risk management
  • Excellent communications skills in a variety of business settings – in both business and technology-centric situations
  • Self driven, eager to learn and able to resolve technical challenges through deep-diving into relevant documentations and collaborating with vendors and collagues
  • Proven budgeting and financial management expertise at a departmental level
  • A strong strategic and business mindset and ability to convert technical capabilities into business value
  • Strong knowledge of applications information security vulnerabilities, disaster-recovery and risk management
  • Excellent communications skills in a variety of business settings – in both business and technology-centric situations
  • Self driven, eager to learn and able to resolve technical challenges through deep-diving into relevant documentations and collaborating with vendors and collagues
  • Strong MS Office knowledge, including formulas and Visual Basic for Applications
  • Able to develop low complexity solutions to support aforementioned applications and technologies
  • Strong command of the English language to facilitate communications with both colleagues and global customers.
