How an international industrial group built a cybersecurity team after an attack, with new specialists on board within a week of each request

Post-incident, demand kept changing for years. The team flexed between 6 and 22 people across four disciplines without a single re-tender.

The challenge

After a cyber attack, an international industrial group had to stand up an international cybersecurity team fast, and then keep it staffed as requirements kept shifting over the following years. Hiring specialist security profiles one by one, at the pace of an incident response and then a maturing program, was not realistic in-house.

What we did

SWICON supported the build-up of the international cybersecurity team and then tracked emerging demand continuously over several years, providing IT security, project management, system analysis and development competences under one long-term framework, delivered primarily from Hungary for an international scope. Headcount and profile mix move with demand: 4–11 security specialists, 6–8 project managers, 3–7 system analysts and 2–6 developers at any given time.

The result

Resources are in place within one week of a request, sustained over several years. The engagement has run for ten years without interruption, with four disciplines staffed in parallel and a team that scales between 6 and 22 people as the group's program requires.
